Reluctance DC Motor and DC Fan Motor



Energy efficiency has been improved by the application of a reluctance DC compressor motor that uses powerful neodymium magnets, which are approximately 10 times stronger than ferrite magnets. A DC fan motor has been employed as the fan motor and its fine rotation control greatly improved energy consumption.

Swing Compressor		PAM Control

Energy efficiency is increased by reducing operational friction and refrigerant gas leakage while minimizing the noise levels. In 1995 Daikin developed the first swing compressor in the industry and applied it to their air onditioners.

Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) control reduces energy loss by controlling how often the converter switches on and off.


Energy Saving Inverter Power Control maximizes capacity to quickly reach the set temperature. It then reduces capacity to the minimum level required to maintain the set temperature. Most of the time the unit operates at near the minimum level. Compared to non-inverter air conditioners, Daikin Inverter Power Control reduces power consumption by approximately 30%.

Intelligent Eye prevents energy waste by using its infrared sensor to detect human movement in a room. When there is no movement, Intelligent Eye increases the temperature by 2° to give energy savings of up to 20%. This reduces energy waste if, for example, you forget to turn off the air conditioner. All models from 2.5 to 7.1 kW class are equipped with Intelligent Eye. This function can be conveniently activated from the remote controller. Once Intelligent Eye is set, it continues to work to save energy. You do not need to push the SENSOR button each time you wish to use this function.





		The Power-Airflow Dual Flaps can flatten out during cooling operation to deliver cool air to the corners of a room. The flaps can direct warm air straight down to the floor during heating operation.




		The smoothly curved Wide-Angle Louvers provide wide airflow coverage for effective cooling/heating no matter where the indoor unit is placed in the room.




		Vertical Auto-Swing automatically moves the flaps up and down to ensure an even distribution of air throughout the room.





		Indoor unit operating sound levels are decreased by 2 or 3 dB from the Low setting fan speed using the wireless remote controller.




		Outdoor unit operating sound levels can be decreased by 3 dB from the rated operating sound using the wireless remote controller.




		Intelligent Eye with its infrared sensor automatically controls air conditioner operation according to human movement in the room. When there is no movement, it adjusts the temperature by 2°, resulting in energy savings of up to 20% for cooling operation and 30% for heating operation.




		This function automatically selects cooling, heating or dry operation mode based on the room temperature and humidity at startup.




		This function automatically reduces the level of humidity while maintaining the preset room temperature.




		The microprocessor automatically controls fan speed to adjust the room temperature to the set temperature.





		This function is convenient for boosting cooling/heating performance for a 20-minute period both when you first turn on your air conditioner or want to quickly change the room temperature.




		There is a second On/Off switch on the indoor unit to prevent any problems if the wireless remote controller is misplaced.





		The air conditioner memorizes the settings for mode, airflow, temperature, etc., and automatically returns to them when power is restored after a power failure.




		Malfunction codes are shown on the digital display panel of the wireless remote controller for fast and easy maintenance.




		Special anticorrosion treatment of the outdoor unit heat exchanger fin gives 5 to 6 times greater resistance against acid rain and salt corrosion.





		This optional filter combines the Air-Purifying Filter and Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic Deodorizing Filter in a single highly effective unit. The filter traps microscopic particles, decomposes odors and even deactivates bacteria and viruses. It lasts for three years without replacement if washed about once every six months.

		The flat panel models can be cleaned with only a single pass of a cloth across their smooth surface. The flat panel can also be easily removed for more thorough cleaning.

When outdoor temperatures are low, this function preheats the compressor to shorten the time required to discharge warm air.

Before starting heating operation, a sensor checks for frost in the outdoor unit and initiates automatic defrosting if necessary to ensure only warm air is discharged.

After defrosting or when starting heating operation, air is preheated before discharge to prevent uncomfortable cold drafts.





		The timer can be preset to start and stop at any time within a 24-hour period. The air conditioner is started/stopped simply by pressing the On/Off timer button on the wireless remote controller.




		Pressing the Off timer button automatically selects the Night Set Mode. This function prevents any sudden change in room temperature by gently raising/lowering the temperature before the air conditioner stops, so you can sleep more comfortably.
